Bodywork- Fascial Unwinding, Concierge Physical Therapy
Alyssa Welch is a Doctor of Physical Therapy, who graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2016. After gaining experience in a variety of settings, she found her passion for fascial therapy and began to embrace a holistic lifestyle. Over the past six years, she has enhanced her skills through advanced training in John Barnes Myofascial Release, Dr. Barry Gillespie’s Approach to Craniosacral Fascial Therapy, and Myofunctional Therapy. At Southeast Fascial Therapy, Alyssa blends these techniques with her expertise to achieve lasting results. Alyssa serves clients throughout Louisiana, Texas, Alabama, and Mississippi.
My Journey
My journey deep into fascial work began in 2021, long before I ever planned to open my own practice. I was performing myofascial release on a client when she had a sudden and profound emotional and physical release- something I couldn't explain with the traditional PT training I had been taught.
That moment opened the door. I went home and began working on my husband- who was suffering from chronic migraines, neck, and back pain at the time. Over the course of the next few weeks, I was amazed. Not only did he become pain free, but his body told a deeper story- one shaped by tension, trauma, nervous system overload, and years of compensation.
As I continued to bring this work into the clinic, I watched patients shift in ways I hadn't experienced before. It became clear that true healing required time, presence, and a whole-body lens. A lens which looks at fascia, breathing patterns, the nervous system, and the emotional load a person carries.
When I discovered the Gillespie Approach to Craniosacral Fascial Therapy in 2023, everything clicked. It gave me the language for what my hands had been feeling all along and gave me the confidence to step out of the traditional model. Southeast Fascial Therapy was born from a desire to offer care that sees the whole person- giving every client the time, space, and safety to let their body unwind and heal in the way it was designed to.
My Philosophy
The body remembers. Fascia holds experiences, patterns, and tension. But with safety, connection, and the right approach, it can release and restore balance.
My care is:
- Gentle - never forceful
- Body-led - following the system, not fighting it
- Holistic - addressing breath, posture, mobility, oral tension, sleep, and nervous system regulation
- Restorative - supporting the body's innate wisdom to heal
My goal is simple:
To help you and/ or your child feel lighter, calmer, and more connected in your body.
A Cash-Based, Patient-Centered Approach
My practice is cash based to allow for longer sessions and a whole-body treatment approach that is not restricted by insurance requirements. This model supports individualized care and greater treatment flexibility. Superbills can be provided for qualifying Physical Therapy sessions. HSA and FSA cards are accepted.
